Hello from Greenville, SC. I am a longtime accumulator / collector of all things gun related, usually unusual items. Recently got a few swords, then, last week, got 6 more, then, last night, another..........a new addiction I guess. I really know little about them, so will start posting pictures, several of them are Wilkinson swords, one is a William Glaze from Columbia, SC, a couple old US marked swords, one that was a prop in the 60's TV series called The Avengers, and last night I got what I believe is an 1889 Prussian officers degen. I will try posting some pictures here. Any and all feedback is sought and appreciated !!!!
Thanks, Rick

Welcome to the LionGate forum! A nice little growing collection you have. The blade on the Wilkinson is interesting with what appears to be Islamic script. Can you put up some more pics of that? Any other markings on it?

I have not gone to great lengths to publicize the forums as yet, so there are presently not too many members, but I intend to do so in the future. Your contributions are important and valued. Thanks for taking the time!

Best wishes for 2010!

The top photo is, of course, a Prussian M89 Infantry degen.

Is that a swept-hilt on the back of the rack? What're you hiding?  Shocked

I just had a closer look -- I think it's the one you mentioned as a movie prop, which is probably exactly what it is.

That would be John Steed's sword, from The Avengers. I have a couple civil War swords that aren't pictured, and many more bayonets. These things just seem to keep appearing here.    Wink
